UNWORTHY BUT NOT UNLOVED

This morning a person responded to my question, “What do you think about my book?” in this way;” “It makes me feel unworthy.” My dear reader, one of the most telling proofs that the gospel is at work within a person’s heart is when they acknowledge that they are unworthy before the Lord Jesus Christ.

Humility is seeing yourself as you compare to Almighty God

In the case of the Apostle Peter, he was undone, when He cast a net at Jesus’s request, which through all his experience told him, that it should have caught nothing. However, to the contrary, it became so full it began to tear. About that incident we read these words, “But when Simon Peter saw that, he fell down at Jesus’ feet, saying, “Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!” (Luke 5:8)

One of the reasons God inspired the scriptures was to comfort the broken-hearted. The child of God is a person who is humbled before the greatness and grace of the one true God. The person who is broken in his sins needs the comfort that only God can give.

When Isaiah stood at the threshold of the Temple at the time that God made His presence manifest, he said,” “Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.” (Isaiah 6:5)

My dear reader, please understand that because of God’s great love for us, He tells us the truth about ourselves. When a sinful person, which we all are, accepts the truth about his sinful condition and repents (turns away) from his sin, by the grace of God, he then needs to be comforted. One of the hundreds of such comforting verses is Romans 8:1, “Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

If you have seen yourself as unworthy before the love of God in Christ Jesus you just may find that God loves you more than you know. Reach out to God who sees you as you are and not as you want yourself to be. He loves you as you are when you are found to humble yourself before His Son the Lord Jesus Christ.

THE JESUS YOU NEED TO KNOW was written as a character study of Jesus Christ the Son of God. According to Genesis 1 & 2 man was made in the image of God. The perfect image of God in the person of Jesus Christ, as He is God in human form. Get a copy or download to your phone this book to find out just what man is meant to be.
