This Present Evil Age II

The will of God is clear as to why Jesus died for our sins, “Who gave himself for our sins that he might rescue us from the present evil age in accord with  the will of our God and Father” Galatians 1:3

Jesus died for our sins so that He might rescue, deliver, and pluck us out of this present evil age or generation; yet in each age men pervert Christianity into a system of rules to justify their otherwise godless living. So in an ironic twist, false religions author sinful behavior while pretending to be godly.

“For, brethren, you have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another” Galatians 5:13. Paul in his letter was setting aright the false teaching that returns men to the bondage of the law, which no man can fulfill. Also, there is no such thing as sinless perfection in this life; it was John Bunyan who once said, “The greatest prayer I ever prayed had enough sin in it to condemn the whole world.”

However, the godly pastor, and church are responsible to love, forgive, encourage, and bear one another’s burdens.   Likewise, the bible commands His Church to exercise accountability, and discipline in a spirit of love, desiring the advancement of all in the faith and protecting the Holy name of Christ.

Only a wicked false prophet would pretend to preach liberty in Christ, and then give his hearers permission to continue in sin.  Sin is the most destructive force in the universe, it alienates people from the only true and holy God who is peace, joy, and comfort.  To permit sin and encourage it in so doing is nothing short of evil, intentional or not.

The great liberty of the children of God is to serve Christ out of love for His sacrifice, always turning away from evil, in a spirit of humility.
