THE MEANING OF LIFE

So after seventy years or so of experiencing life, what is the conclusion? Is it for the joys, suffering, or to perpetuate the race? When it’s over, is it over for good?  It seems like if death is the end of it all for each it was all for nothing.

According to God there is life after death, and the quality of that life is dependent upon our knowledge of God and His Christ (the one sent to save).  Jesus prayed, “This is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”  (John 17:3)

Biblically speaking, eternal life does not only refer to length of existence but can also refer to a person. The Apostle John who walked with Jesus for three years wrote, “The life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us,” (1 John 1:2)

Jesus, as the second person of the divine trinity, is eternal and the life that created all things. To know Him in an intimate and loving way is to partake of His life, which is more than mere existence.  His life is everything we think ourselves to be but are not.  Love, truth, righteousness, virtue, and purity are real and complete in Christ.

How to know God is to know Christ. How to know Christ is to receive Him as Lord by repentance (turn away from sin) and faith or trust in His person and work to save.

Just weeks away THE JESUS YOU NEED TO KNOW from WestBow Press, a Division of Thomas Nelson and Zondervan will be on the shelves.
