“When Gideon saw that he was the angel of the LORD,
he said, "Alas, O Lord GOD ! For now I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face." The LORD said to him, "Peace to you, do not fear ; you shall not die." Judges 6:22-23
It was understood among the Israelites that no one could see the face of God and live, which is why Gideon expressed deep concern when he realized He had looked upon The Angel of the Lord.
The LORD tells Gideon not to fear because there was PEACE between them, which we see in the words, “…Peace to you…” When the crowds saw the great miracles Jesus did they said, “"BLESSED IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD ; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest !"
Let us remember the peace we (Christians) enjoy was planned in heaven, accomplished at Calvary, and placed in our hearts!
