HOW TO SLEEP WELL

Dear readers, this blog is not meant for all those individuals that have some chemical imbalance that makes it very difficult to get a good night sleep. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all.

To all my readers that do not sleep as well as they might because they do not have perfect peace, peace is that state of mind that suspends war. The war spoken of here is the inner turmoil of the conscience that condemns the guilty. I know there is no more significant experience than to find the peace for which we all long. How we find real and lasting peace is explained in Romans 5:1 & 2)

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in the hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5:1 & 2)

If we would be honest, we know what it means to justify ourselves when we have done something wrong. However, there is no peace for those who justify themselves. It is accurate dear reader, I do not know you, so how can I know if you have ever justified your behavior; this is how!

Rest is only for those that have received the peace of God by faith

A man inspired by the Holy Spirit, when speaking for God, said according to Romans 5:1, “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God.” The peace that we all long for is the peace that is on the other side of faith. Such peace is not self-justification but justification that comes from God. That we all need justification is assumed in the text. It is perfectly fine when God assumes something because He, unlike us, has perfect knowledge. He knows the end from the beginning and has planned the same.

Paul then goes on to say, “…we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand…” Grace is one of the most comforting terms in the New Testament. It can inject peace into the human soul like nothing else. Grace has no human work attached to it. It is something God accomplishes apart from human effort. The struggling to justify ourselves ends at the foot of the cross; it is there that our striving becomes resting.

If wrongdoing is something you can be honest about within yourself; then you need peace. God-given faith obtains grace and peace. The faith that receives the grace of God and peace as its fruit is something you can rest your head on and get an excellent night sleep. God-given faith is supplied to those that ask for it. So if you do not have it – ask for it, and have a good night sleep!
