Focused on the Gospel

“But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel…” Galatians 2:14

The ability to focus is essential if you are going to compete as a sharpshooter. Likewise, the apostle Paul continually focused on the truth of the gospel as the main concern for life and ministry. So much so that at the end of his life he could say with a clear conscience, “…I have kept the faith…” (The body of truth contained in the scripture).

Paul never deviated from the truth, “…false brothers secretly brought in, who slipped in to spy on our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, that they might enslave us— to them we did not submit even for a moment..” Ga. 2:4-5

The healthy Christian is able to keep his eye on the target and thereby avoid false teaching and faulty living.
