Two Ways to Live

Imagine a prisoner who after receiving a pardon by the governor begins to sweep the floors in an attempt to earn his freedom. But why, some will ask, would anyone condemned on death row reject the pardon that could save his life?

The scripture explains such unreasonable behavior as a rejection of the truth of guilt and condemnation, which demands an act of God to set them free. The law was given for the purpose of condemnation and not as a way of gaining acceptance with God. “But the scripture has concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.” Ga. 3:22

Only those dead to their own righteousness can place faith in the promises of God!
